I was just reading that Borini has tweeted "going back" this morning but it's unclear if he meant to Lazio or pre season training??

we have a very poor record when if comes to signing forwards from Liverpool

We need all of our players to be first team players with an awareness that we are a squad

I always liked Carlton but even I can admit he was here at least two years too long and certainly shouldn't act as any kind of benchmark.

Borini as a squad player wouldn't be so bad but not at the rumoured cost.

What, from shit to not so shit?

Why not? Replacing a player with a better player is how you improve a squad.

The benchmark shouldn't be Carlton Cole.

Better work rate than Carlton. Better shooting accuracy. Better all round. Wouldn't be too sad with this if we didn't splash the 15 mill the scousers we're demanding off of sunderlamd last season. Good europa player.

"Top quality forward"

you obviously haven't got a clue about football.

Would be a superb signing.

Top quality forward wasted when played wide. Prolific through the youth teams at Chelsea. Liverpool wasted him.

Could become a fans fav.

a loan is ok but the very idea of signing him full time is totally ridiculous.

9 in 24 for Roma
7 in 32 for Sunderland

Didn't really play through the middle for either so not a bad return. Admittedly he struggled at Liverpool.

AC has 14 in 51 for us.
